How to compare text

  1. Paste text into both editors or choose local .txt files.
  2. Optionally select Ignore whitespace or Ignore case, then choose Compare.
  3. Review the added, removed, and changed lines. Use Previous and Next to move between differences.

What the diff checker shows

Text Compare checks plain text line by line. Changed rows show the original and modified lines side by side. Ignore whitespace collapses repeated whitespace and ignores whitespace at the ends of lines when matching; Ignore case matches letters without case differences. The displayed text remains unchanged.

Copy Result and Download Diff export a plain text diff for review. The download is not a unified patch file.

Is my text uploaded?

No. The comparison runs in your browser, and your text and files are not sent to a server.

Does it highlight individual words?

No. This version identifies changed lines and shows both lines for comparison.

What are the input limits?

Each file can be up to 10 MB, each input can contain up to 10 million characters, and each side can contain up to 10,000 lines.
